A Place in the Country (Sort Of)

This old shed actually sits on the side of busy Interstate 35 just south of San Marcos. Look to the north and south and you’ll see a huge mall and loads of cars traveling between Mexico and Canada. Look to the east and west and you’ll see farmland (for now) and the occasional herd of cows. It’s an interesting clash of old and new.

That does sound like a very intersting place. Very nice photo. The rusty tin roofs remind me of many houses back home.

Too true with the (for now). But surely not everything can get consumed for something else. Great ramshakle place, always such excellent fodder for the photographer and no exception here.

I like how one area has intense colours, it draws the eye to it.

  7. Thanks for this great shot Andy! I love old shacks like this with all the muted and varied colors. It’s set nicely before an unobtrusive sky and bordered below by a great old fence. Really my kind of shot.

Beautiful rusty colors. I like your look on this subject.

  9. Craig says:

As always, you have captured something fairly mundane and imbued it with interest. Your photos always seem to have something of a brooding quality about them and this is no exception. Beautifully exposed and a great range of tones and colours.

How do you get these do animated looking? This is so awesome looking. I love seeing really old buildings. Barns or anything else. This is really nice.
