Dead Corn and Rainbows

A field of dead corn is given new life with a rainbow and a splash of sunflower. I caught this on the edge of a storm with bright sun and pouring rain all around.

amazing shot..the perfect composition of the rainbow right above the field….plus color from the flower additional a great focal point:-)

Beautiful shot Andy! Was this yesterday evening? There was a brilliantly prominent one on my drive back to Austin from New Braunfels. First time I’d ever seen a complete rainbow, I sure wished I had carried my camera :-(

You probably didn’t check the ends, being too frustrated with that mailbox :)
    I like the contrast too

dp: I didn’t realize you were so close. It was indeed yesterday. I went out on Highway 21 and took some county roads between 21 and Lockhart. This particular shot was taken on a gravel road during a break in the rain. I saw another rainbow in the same area that appeared to be lying almost flat across a field of cotton. Weird stuff. Too bad you didn’t have your camera but I guess that’s the way it goes.

kikko77: No, I didn’t check. I guess the other one shattered my innocence. :-p

    everyone: Thanks for the comments!

That is an amazing shot. The composition is great. The colors of the flowers really pops against the dark, dead corn. Also the association of rainbows with passing on, really gives it interesting style. Dead corn and the rainbow.
