River Crossing

I went on another photo excursion this past weekend, driving the back roads east of I-35. The light was good but I just wasn’t happy with any of my shots. It’s kind of disappointing considering the price of gas these days. This photo is actually from two weeks ago. I was standing on an old iron bridge overlooking the San Marcos River. It’s not anything spectacular but I like it.

  1. Looks similar to the place where I go walking just about every day. I know what you mean about not being happy with any shots, especially this time of year. I’m currently trying to learn the Rebel XT and have taken loads of bad shots with it so far . . .

  2. DeWaun says:

Gorgeous! The reflected sky is spectacular. Don’t sell this shot very short, it’s a very nice composition.

  3. cary says:

    Well built.

The water looks surreal – like it may be oil, but not quite.

    Got any more “old” shots?

  4. Roger says:

    Very nice shot.

  11. You capture Texas’ beauty so well! I’m curious what lens was used for this shot. The details are so crisp.

  12. Joy says:

Stunning! I always enjoy looking at your work. You have mastered the “Blue Hour” quite well.

  13. Eric says:

That reflection is just outstanding. A very surreal feel to it.

  14. Hza says:

you managed to get a great shot! I like the reflection of the sky in the water..makes it look very ‘ethereal’.

  15. noushin says:

This is such an amazing shot, I love the reflection. It almost looks like sky itself is in the water. Beautiful : )

  16. Nate says:

Great mild colors and I live the creek. Very nice. You must do a lot of driving around looking for these kind of shots. I’m starting to miss Texas.

  17. Ed says:

    Love the reflection in this!

  18. I love your work very much. This picture reflects for me PEACE!
