Waiting for the Train

Waiting for the TrainThis is another train trestle over the Blanco River, only further downstream than anything I’ve shot previously. I waited here quite a while in the hope of catching a passing train but none came. Of course, if I’d been in a hurry to get somewhere, I’d have been blocked by two or three.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. I love the perspective and I even like the black and white (I’m usually a color girl.)

Excellent clarity and imagery. Excellent use of vanishing point. Great shot!

  4. I sooo love it. This is really my kind of shot. I love shots of trains and tracks and especially old bridges such as this with the complex geometry. And you’ve made artwork of this one.

Hot Damn! This is killer bees! Perspective and tones are dead on. This is my first visit, picked it up off our de.li.co.us feeds that we feature at http://www.thedailyshooter.com. Added you to my daily visits ;)

killer photo! very…moody picture with that wonderful sky and the big clunky architecture. Reminds me a little of Sin City which I saw not long ago.

    Marvellous

  10. Oh this is awesome! I love how the eye is pulled down the tracks and to the opening on the other side of the bridge. I also really like the brushed clouds in the sky – beautiful tones. (Polarizer by any chance?)

This really is a fantastic exposure…getting in all that sky detail and still retaining the good density on the tracks etc. is tough to do. I like how the sky seems to be being sucked into the distant opening at the end of the tracks. Very cool.

I keep coming back to this photo and can’t seem to figure out what I want to say. So I figured I should atleast say that I like it a lot. I think the symmetries are definately one thing that attracts me. The deep tones are really awesome too.
